Closing the gap between detection and screening
Our aim is to facilitate and bridge the gap between detection and screening of cancer and other NCDs (non-communicable diseases), in order to improve good health and well-being globally, but with particular urgency in low and middle-income countries.

Why Roots & Genes
A family tree, over-layered with health
Cancer comes from the interaction between a person's genetic factors and outside agents. The outside agents are known, and we can all act to protect ourselves. Our genetic factors are, for most people and families, unknown.
What if a family tree carried each relative's cancer history: a family cancer tree map? Your roots become a tool for your own health, and for every generation after you.
The Roots app helps families build an accurate back story, so that doctors, health institutions and governments can target screening at those most at risk, early.

Roots & Genes Foundation is a for-good social innovation enterprise and charity. It gifts the revenue from the Roots app to the Theresa & Mike's Angels Cancer Foundation, to further its work to increase early detection and diagnosis of all forms of cancer and other NCDs, to alleviate suffering, and to build support networks for sufferers, their carers and loved ones.
